Are you ready for Valentine’s Day? Instead of splurging on expensive gifts, why not create something heartfelt and handmade? Today, we’re diving into how to make a beautiful Heart Treat Box from an SVG file I’ve created. This project is perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or even wedding party favors. Let’s get started!
Supplies:
Heart Treat Box SVG
Cardstock
Liquid Glue
Double Sided Tape Sheets
Laminator Sheet
Cameo 5
Electrostatic Mat
Step 1: Cut Your Pieces
The design consists of 3 parts: the base, the top, and the acetate window. Each piece includes score lines to guide your folds. Cut these parts out on your cutting machine.
Step 2: Fold and Prepare
Start by folding along all the score lines. This is an essential step to ensure precision during assembly. The base includes glue tabs designed to be hidden inside the box, giving it a clean finish.
Step 3: Assemble the Base
Apply glue to the tabs and attach the pieces carefully, ensuring the seams are flush. Use a tabletop for added support and precision. Press down firmly to secure each section.
Step 4: Attach the Acetate Window
You have two options for attaching the acetate: sandwiched between the glue tab which requires adhesive on both sides of the acetate or outside the tabs, a more efficient method that saves tape and simplifies the process.
To attach the acetate, use double-sided tape. If the tape is too wide and visible through the window, trim it with a weeding tool for a clean finish.
Step 5: Final Assembly
Glue the remaining tabs to secure the box. The top flaps should remain unglued as they function as the opening. Use your tabletop again to press the edges firmly in place. Fold the top flaps inward and close the box.
Voila! You now have a stunning, 3x3x3-inch treat box ready to fill with candy, chocolates, or small gifts.
Crafting your own gifts is a fun and rewarding way to show your love this Valentine’s Day. With this Heart Treat Box, you’ll have a thoughtful and unique present that’s sure to impress. Happy crafting!
