Natural disasters can strike at any time. Living in the pacific northwest, there is the constant threat of a long-overdue earthquake. I have taken the threat seriously and have been preparing my bug out bags for the past year.
I have a large hiking bag in my house ready for evacuating on foot. I have a day supply pack in my car and a Rubbermaid tub full of supplies for hunkering down at home. This is on top of a month’s supply of food and water for my family and me.
With all the wildfires burning in Oregon, some even a little too close to home, I’ve taken another look at my emergency kits. I realized I have not fully prepared my pets for evacuations.
Today, I’m going to show you how I’m using some dollar store items and my silhouette cameo to get organized and prepped for escape.
Items going in each pet bag:
water and food bowls
container of food with feeding directions
water bottle
fleece baby blanket
glow sticks
