3D Layered Bat SVG Assembly

Can you believe Halloween is only 3 weeks away! Fall feels like it is just flying by. I don’t usually decorate for Halloween, but the #aworldofhearts display in my front window is getting pretty faded. So I’ll be switching it out for some fall and Halloween fun.

What’s more fun than some layered bats floating around the windows right! If you’re new to paper crafting this is a great beginner project. It is only 3 layers and cuts cleanly the first time. Run to Michaels and pick up some 65lb cardstock and get cutting!

Supplies:

Foam Squares

I did some extra embellishing to my pieces, but that is totally unnecessary. I did some ink blending on the top layer, but the color I used barely shows up on this orange cardstock. For the middle web layer, I used my versamark ink pad over the entire design and sprinkled on some silver embossing powder.

I’m showing off my new trick of painting the foam squares with black sharpie marker to help them blend in better. No worries if you get sharpie all over your hands, a little rubbing alcohol will get that right off.

If you’re looking to score some cheap foam squares check out your local Dollar Tree. I’ve noticed they are starting to carry more and more craft items, which is great when you’re on a budget! I go through foam squares so quickly it is hard not to pass up such a great deal. They work nicely, though the paper backing does require a little extra patience.

This project goes together rather quickly, I had it completed in about 30 minutes including my embellishing!

Here is the complete assembly video.
